Splendors of the Nile : Journal Gallery |

February 26, 2010
The Step Pyramid is the oldest surviving pyramid in Egypt.
It was designed by Imhotep
as the tomb for Djoser and was the next evolution beyond the Mastaba style tombs.
It was the precurser to the pyramids at Giza. The site is still under active restoration work.
