Title: Public Relations Intern

Summary: The public relations intern will assist in promoting and marketing various programming and/or community initiatives on behalf of Texas Public Radio.
Minimum Qualifications: Excellent writing ability; major in English, marketing, writing, journalism or communications
Responsibilities:

Assist in the planning of a variety of public radio events and initiatives in the community.

Assist in designing and marketing and media plan to successfully promote various Texas Public Radio projects.

Identify and Compile lists of potential media and community contacts for various projects.

Draft, edit and distribute press releases to promote public radio via local media.
The Intern will learn how to:

Identify and coordinate with potential partners to promote public radio and its various community projects.

Design a media plan to ensure successful promotion of various public radio projects via the media.

Write and edit press releases to promote a variety of public radio initiatives.

Promote a local production of a national program.
Texas Public Radio will provide a workstation for 12 of hours per week as well as support and guidance from the Communications Specialist and Director of Corporate Support and Community Outreach.
