Required Qualifications

Must have at least a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or related-field and at least two (2) years related experience in journalism or web development or content production.

Preferred Skills

Demonstrated experience in the production and promotion of public media content. Experience with JavaScript, my SQL, PHP, Drupal or similar CMS platforms, a plus.

Purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible primarily for supporting the efforts of TPR programming and communications staff, by editing and producing content for the TPR website.

Essential duties

Will support the efforts of on-air staff through production of online content for TPR online properties. Edits on-air news and/or promotional copy for TPR website and edits/encodes audio/video for distribution through digital channels. Works with on-air staff to research, develop, and create original content for website that enhances the audience experience.

Essential work competencies

Must possess proficiency in HTML and CSS. Must have solid understanding & competency in standard web production tools such as Adobe Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Must have excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills. Must have ability to communicate effectively and succinctly both orally and in writing and interact with people in a positive manner. Must be able to work effectively under pressure and able to meet deadlines.

Work conditions

Sedentary work, sitting most of the time.
