Camerata San Antonio Recital Features Co-Founder Emily Watkins-Freudigman

Each season, Camerata San Antonio features one player in concert for the "Camerata Recital." This year will be the first for co-founder  Emily Watkins-Freudigman, who will play music by Benjamin Britten, Darius Milhaud, Robert Schumann, and Sergei Prokofiev.

New Sounds From UIW Composer: Darian Thomas Mixes Old And New With Four World Premieres!

Friday night sees four new works by Darian Thomas at the Radius Center in San Antonio. 

It will include "Rant" - for solo viola with Jill Van Gee; "St. Anthony's Trio" - For string trio with Thomas, Darryl Tolliver, and Luke Bonecutter; "Juli-o" - For solo cello and rapper, featuring Luke Bonecutter and Derwin Mello Pokell Bios; and "The British Quartet."

Eliza Thomason Presents Colorful Viola Recital, 'Wild Purple,' at TLU

Eliza Thomason plays Wild Purple by Joan Tower in the Texas Public Radio mail room.

Viola is the middle voice of the string family and is often considered more mellow than the violin. At Texas Lutheran University, Eliza Thomason leads the string department, teaching strings and conducting the student orchestra. This Sunday she'll be joined by Dr. Eric Daub in music by Bach, Schumann, Joan Tower and Rebecca Clarke.

The recital is free and open to the public. Sunday, November 11, at 4 p.m. in Wupperman Theater in the fine arts building on the TLU campus.
