The Stonewall Democrats of San Antonio are the only Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender organization of their kind in Bexar County to screen and endorse candidates for public office.

For endorsement consideration, candidates must fill out a questionnaire on issues like non-discrimination and during its recent review of candidates for the San Antonio City Council, 22 of the 39 candidates completed their questionnaires.

Today is the first day that San Antonio will be paying the extra sales tax for the Pre-K 4 SA program, and with enrollment for the first two centers beginning in May and classes scheduled to begin in August there are still a lot of questions.

Mayor Castro Calls For A Fit And Green Fiesta 2013

The countdown is on for Fiesta 2013 and Mayor Julián Castro is asking Fiesta-goers be fit and green during the 11-day celebration. 

April 18 through April 28 San Antonians will be occupied with traditional parades and parties. Castro said Fiesta is the time for fun and frivolity, but it can be done while keeping Fiesta green.

"We’re here today to invite folks out, of course, to Fiesta, but also to challenge San Antonians to participate in this fit and green Fiesta in the year 2013," Castro said.

The Source: Stage 3 Drought Restrictions Just Around The Corner

Not new to Stage 3, but a good example of how water conservation has become part of the norm, restaurants may serve water only on request (to reduce dishwashing).

We have been in Stage 2 drought restrictions for so long it feels normal, but Stage 3 is just around the corner and you will need to adjust your water lifestyle a little more. Though Texas is a solid red state, Democrats have been fighting the good fight for a long time and many feel like a shift in power is on the horizon.
