Two potential presidential candidates are in Dallas today. Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush will talk about immigration to one organization. Then in the evening, past Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will address a group of apartment executives.

  State Democrats are on the move to Turn Texas Blue, a campaign to turn around the last three decades of Republican domination.

The effort went local last week when Kendall County Democrats asked for input from Congressman Joaquín Castro.

Texas has voted Republican in the last nine general elections, and hasn’t elected a Democrat to a statewide office since the 1990s. Between the Tea-Partiers and Governor Rick Perry, Democrats are feeling the squeeze.

There is still speculation that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will run for President in 2016, but if she does decide to pursue the White House, a new poll finds that she would win in Texas.

No Democrat has been able to claim the electoral votes of Texas since Jimmy Carter squeaked out a victory over Gerald Ford in 1976, but according to the data gathered by Public Policy Polling, Hillary Clinton would win in Texas if that election was held today.
