After working with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation on a national testing tour two years ago, the San Antonio AIDS Foundation received a mobile testing unit for use in Bexar County. The van has two cubicles for rapid 20-minute HIV testing.

During the 2010 tour, Jill Rips, deputy executive director of the San Antonio AIDS Foundation, said they found a few positive results.

Research at the UT Health Science Center Greehey Children's Cancer Research Institute is vital for families with children who have cancer, and is getting a financial boost through a Hyundai Hope Grant.

Encouraging residents to become fit and healthy has been a major goal for the city, and  San Antonio Independent School District is now joining in. The district is certifying each of its P.E. teachers in Zumba to promote a healthy lifestyle for students and to offer free classes to the community.

Seven-year-old Rowan Isaacson is like many kids his age.  He enjoys playing with toys, reading books, and spending time with friends and family.  But as the new documentary and book "The Horse Boy" illustrates, as little as two years ago, Rowan’s life was very different.
