TPR ARMADILLO SHIRT designed by Robert Rehm

Robert Rehm, is latest contributor to our TPR artist-designed T-shirt series. Mr. Rehm taught theater arts for nine years at Thomas Jefferson High School. In March of 2005, while rehearsing for the UIL One-Act, he took a fall off the stage into the orchestra pit. The accident left him paralyzed from the neck down; but despite this unfortunate occurrence, Mr. Rehm remains active in the San Antonio Arts community. The Texas-inspired creation incorporates an armadillo that carries TPR wherever he goes. Holst: The Planets
This CD features the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra performing The Planets Suite, the stirring work by Gustav Holst. Also on the CD are two film score compositions by John Williams, the Close Encounters of the Third Kind Suite and the Star Wars Main title.  These two pieces show how Williams was influenced by Holst’s amazing work!

To mark the bicentenary of Mendelssohn's birth, Anne-Sophie Mutter has recorded a very special tribute combining symphonic music and chamber works. This unique homage to Mendelssohn includes a CD & DVD, both of which feature complete performances of the repertory. The DVD also includes the documentary "Encounters with Mendelssohn." Mutter is joined by the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig (Mendelssohn's orchestra) for the concerto, and by André Previn and Lynn Harrell on the chamber works. This unique program pairs works that are rarely heard together.

High Yello Rose and Other Texas Plays by Sterling Houston

High Yello Rose and Other Texas Plays highlights Sterling Houston's lifetime (1945-2006), but also goes back over 100 years to the fight for Texas and the early years of the 19th and 20th century in San Antonio — the Alamo City. Over these seven plays—farce, domestic tragedy, domestic magical realism, and musical docudramas, Sterling Houston becomes, as one reviewer called him, a "story teller/history teller." The body of Houston's work shows him as first and foremost a postmodern avant-garde satirist influenced by the eclectic, technical pastiche, anything-goes, rebellious and extravagant flare of artists working in America and abroad from the 1960s to the present.
