Studio 360 looks at the places "where art and real life collide," exploring the creative influence and transformative power of art in modern life through richly textured stories and insightful conversation. Hosted by novelist and journalist Kurt Andersen, Studio 360 touches listeners' feelings and challenges their perceptions of the world by presenting a weekly collection of ideas that are provocative and moving, from popular comic books to Wagner, Swiss Army Knives to the legacy of Woody Guthrie. Studio 360 host Kurt Andersen is the author of the novel Turn of the Century (Random House, 1999), which The New York Times called "wickedly satirical," "outrageously funny," and "the most un-clichéd novel imaginable," and which The Wall Street Journal called a "smart, funny and excruciatingly deft portrait of our age." Director Curtis Hanson is developing the novel into a film to be co-produced by Village Roadshow Pictures and Castle Rock.
Program segments include: "Commentary" — Kurt Andersen's weekly musings on culture, from the new TV season to politics as entertainment. Airs: 8 p.m. Wednesday on KSTX 89.1 FM | ||||
