Water Conservation - Taking Action For Your Children's Children

This is the third in a series of panel discussions of the Texas Water Symposium, a project is a partnership of Schreiner University, Texas Tech University in Fredericksburg and Texas Public Radio.

On the panel are John Sutton, with the Texas Water Development Board; Dr. Ken Kramer, Director of the Lone Star Chapter of the Sierra Club; Karen Guz, Director of Conservation for the San Antonio Water System and Billy Kniffen, County extension agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources in Menard County. The event was held on January 24, 2008 on the Texas Tech University at Junction campus. Moderating the discussion and introducing the panel members is Bill Jeffrey, a professor at Texas Tech University in Lubbock.

Water, essential for life, is our most precious and valuable natural resource, but water supply is limited and under increasing pressure from a growing population. How will we protect this resource and plan for a sustainable future? There is a great need for a water-literate public; decisions being made today have far reaching and long lasting effects for our children and future generations.
