Valdez and America's Finest on the Newsmaker

Vincent Valdez has been called one of San Antonio’s great young artists.  He was , at 24, the youngest artist to have a solo exhibition at the McNay Art Museum.  On The Newsmaker Hour, we walk through his newest exhibit, America’s Finest.  We also talk to two filmmakers, Angela and Mark Walley of Walley Films, as they discuss their work documenting San Antonio artists.  They recently completed their short documentary on Valdez’ work.  Finally we will hear Valdez in lecture, walking an audience at the McNay through his career. From how the movie Platoon changed his life, to his first Art Museum, which was the house of his late grandparents, Valdez talks passions, priorities and the elements of his style.
