Among the many constitutional changes that Texas voters will be deciding next Tuesday is one reducing the tax burden for homeowners. Proposition Onewill raise the amount of your property tax exemption from $15,000 to $25,000.

This will mean $1.2 billion in lost tax revenue for school districts, which the legislature has said it will make up for additional funds from state coffers.

Guests:

  • Dick Lavine, Senior Fiscal Analyst for the Center for Public Policy Priorities, an independent policy analysis organization that advocates for expanding healthcare and economic opportunity, often seen as left-leaning.
  • Daniel Gonzalez, Director of Legislative Affairs for the Texas Association of Realtors
