The Source: The Music And Life Of Guy Clark

When we talk about all the great musical talent that the world lost in 2016 - don't forget to add Guy Clark to the list.

After the past few years of failing health Clark died on May 17 at the age of 74.

He is remembered as an Texas country and folk singer - musician, songwriter, and performer. With more than 20 albums to his name and dozens of songs recorded by other artists.

He won the 2014 Grammy Award for Best Folk Album - "My Favorite Picture of You."

It's Clark's songwriting that set him apart.

And his encouragement of others to dedicate themselves to the art including Steve Earle and Rodney Crowell.

The story is told in the new book "Without Getting Killed or Caught - The Life and Music of Guy Clark," written by Tamara Saviano, a Nashville music producer and close friend of Clark's. The book is published by Texas A&M University Press.
