The Source: How Should City Entice Affordable Housing?

City of San Antonio

San Antonio is one of the most economically segregated big cities in the country, according to several studies. With certain areas booming for new posh developments, like the Museum Reach area or Southtown, once affordable areas are becoming less so.

The City of San Antonio and other stakeholders may intercede to entice developers to build more affordable housing, or to incentivize other aspects of redevelopment to benefit diverse housing options. A lot of ideas have floated around the Mayor's Task Force On Preserving Dynamic & Diverse Neighborhoods

What is on the table? Should the city let the market determine housing?
