Historic Travis Park will be alive with music this weekend, when Jazz 'SA Live kicks off its 35th annual music event at Travis Park downtown, said the San Antonio Parks Foundation's Adam Fleming.

"There is shade. There's some big, beautiful trees you can sit under and enjoy the music and eat, drink and be merry," he said.

The two-day event, beginning Friday, features some very accomplished musicians, including 2018 Grammy nominee in jazz, Jazzmeia Horn, and Lee Ritenour.

Besides his solo career, Ritenour was one of the revolving stables of guitarist players who played with Steely Dan.

Other performers include Sammy Miller and the Congregation; U.S. Air Force Dimensions in Blue; Jim Cullum Happy Jazz Band; local percussionist Audra Menconi; and Toro Flores with Zarabande.

On the second stage, Tony Romero’s The Other Jazz Band and The Olympus will be featured.

Also the newly-renovated Travis Park will play host to Bakery Lorraine's Pop Tart Brunch on Saturday morning, coinciding with yoga in the park, and the post-party events atop the St. Anthony Hotel.

“There's lots of cool stuff happening over the weekend," he said.

"Friday night is our old-fashioned rooftop swing dance party with the Dirty Dixie River Band. Saturday will be our VIP wine-down party with vocal crooner Ken Slavin."
