City Council is considering more protections for the views and vistas surrounding historic places, landmarks and cultural resources in San Antonio.
The "viewshed" around four sites – the Tower Life Building, San Fernando Cathedral, Hays Street Bridge and Woodlawn Lake – have been recommendedfor approval by the Council's Arts, Culture & Heritage Committee.
A visual surveycompleted in March by the City's Office of Historic Preservation shows citizens' interest in protecting additional landmarks, including the Japanese Tea Garden and Market Square.
