80 Percent Of San Antonio Drivers Commute To Work Alone

Jan 7, 2018

How can San Antonio drivers be convinced to carpool or use public transit to get to work? A new working group aims to find answers.

Initiated by District 7 representative Ana Sandoval and District 4's Rey Saldaña, the City of San Antonio will be working with public and private entities and local businesses to recommend alternative transportation options for employees.

The goal is to lower daily traffic congestion on roads and highways, in part to cut down on potential damage to the area's air quality but also to prepare for the one million additional residents expected to move to San Antonio by 2040

What transportation options are reliable, practical and convenient for residents? How can San Antonio steer away from the “one vehicle, one driver” mindset?
