The Tweet of God brings you the latest and greatest from the divine, from God memoirist and social satirist David Javerbaum.

Javerbaum joins us to talk about his time on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show," and his popular book "The Last Testament," an imagined memoir of God. The book draws from the runaway success of his Twitter account, The Tweet of God.

Update: (9:30 a.m.) Federal Judge Xavier Rodriguez, who is hearing the case, denied the Texas Workers Alliance restraining order against Northside ISD in reference to the specific incident cited.

The restraining order was seeking the restraining order to allow TWA member Alma Benavides to distribute organization materials at an employee organization day on May 6.

Rep. Lyle Larson, R-San Antonio, who authored House Bill 160, which mandates Gov. Rick Perry pay back the state for travel and security expenses incurred during his presidential campaign, got his chance to talk to Perry about it face to face.  

Update: (May 3 12:08 p.m.) The test results found that the oil is petroleum based, but SARA still doesn't know where the oil originated.

The TCEQ and SARA have agreed that they will share the cost of restoring the vegetation and grass in the affected areas.

Update: (May 3, 9:45 a.m.) Still no word on the sample results from SARA or the TCEQ.

The San Antonio Symphony announced today that Jack Downey, a local businessman, fundraising consultant and retired Air Force officer, will take the helm as the organizations new CEO.

Downey said this position was an irresistible opportunity:

"I got used to notoriety early," said Carla Bruni in an interview with the British newspaper, The Telegraph. So there's nothing holding her back as she sings little songs about her former life, and romantic entanglement with a very famous pop star of the sixties.

Wednesday is the start of pre-enrollment for San Antonio’s new early childhood education initiative, Pre-K 4 SA. 700 students in total will be selected for the inaugural classes at the two model education centers, located on the northwest and southeast sides of town.

The city changed the dates and locations of pre-enrollment, which is now scheduled to run through May 9.

The House Committee on Homeland Security and Public Safety heard from the chief investigators of the explosion at the West fertilizer plant this morning at the state capitol.

Nim Kidd, chief of the Texas Division of Emergency Management, told lawmakers that the state uses an EPA law that places the responsibility for responding to emergency at the local level.

UTSA Art Professor Ken Little of UTSA’s College of Liberal and Fine Arts has been selected to serve as the 2014 Texas State Visual Artist 3-D. 

Little is one of a handful of artists recognized by the Texas Commission on the Arts and will help contribute to a distinctive cultural identity that is Texas.

Little’s work has been featured in more than 250 group exhibitions, 45 solo exhibitions, and in public and private collections all around the United States.
