Where some would borrow a sonata development or structure, Beethoven would take the layout, hacksaw it off and replace it with an invention of his own, or invert something and swap parts around, much like car nuts did in the early days of Hot Rod building.

But the composer's days of modifying others' ideas was over.

San Antonio runner Richard Teitz, who is a longtime TPR member, was among the participants in Monday's Boston Marathon. He’s been running for more than forty years and this would have been his 14th Boston marathon.

Teitz is returning home Tuesday and said he’s going to allow himself extra time at the airport as security has been heightened. Teitz said he was about one-third of a mile from the finish line before the explosions, but couldn’t see it just yet and didn’t hear anything.

The 2013 land grab is underway between the cities of San Antonio and Helotes. Helotes city leaders are taking on San Antonio with legislation for a few square miles that San Antonio doesn’t want to let go of.

Helotes and residents of the San Antonio Ranch subdivision want the town to scoop up a swath of land that’s in San Antonio’s extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ).

The City of Helotes is asking for San Antonio to release a 6.7 square mile parcel of land that is outside of San Antonio’s city limits.

After the latest incident, this one involving District 9 Councilwoman Elisa Chan, San Antonio residents want to know what the city plans to do about the culture at City Hall.

The governor’s office release details of a tax relief plan that provides benefits for small and large businesses alike. Before getting into specifics, Gov. Rick Perry took a moment to pause for those affected by the bombings that occurred during the Boston Marathon. 

"I think all of us have friends and/or relatives up in Boston with the race going on so keep them in your prayers as we get the details," Perry said.

Perry listed a four-part plan to to provide over $1 billion in tax money to current businesses and out-of-state companies looking to re-locate.

A group of Texas lawmakers announced a snapshot of where the state is headed on issues like healthcare, environmental quality and education.

It’s called Texas on the Brink, which is a collection of statistics on the State of Texas. Rep. Garnet Coleman, D-Houston, is the chairman of the group.

San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro will be giving the keynote speech Tuesday at the National Development Council's three-day training seminar in Washington, D.C.

It is the first speech he'll be getting paid to deliver.

The National Development Council works with cities on economic and community development, helping to revitalize areas that desperately need attention.
