Peter Sagal rides a motorcycle for freedom...sort of.  Sagal, host of "Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me," has a new project that has him sporting a red, white and blue motorcycle and digging into the Constitution.

From scholars and school teachers to the average Joe, Sagal is interested in finding out why the constitution still matters, how it works and how it doesn't work.  

After several legislative strategies, a bill that would set up the first Texas needle exchange dies on the House floor.

There were multiple attempts to revive the bill, which was authored by Rep. Ruth Jones McClendon, D-San Antonio, and would've set up a pilot needle exchange program for IV drug users.

Lawmakers managed to postpone a high-stakes testing bill on the first Friday the Senate has worked this session.

Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst said it was an agreement in principle that the Senate would take up and pass a House bill being carried by Sen. Dan Patrick, R-Houston, which reduces the number of end-of-course exams from 15 to five.

"But apparently a number of members - principally Democrat, but some Republicans - had not been in the meeting and felt like they had not been briefed enough. And I understand that, I understand that," Patrick said.

House Bill 852, which has passed in the Texas House, places tighter restrictions on the controversial fishing practice called shark finning.

Several residents have reported strange phone calls about water testing in their homes so New Braunfels Utilities is cautioning its customers that there may be a scam in the works since the people ask to come outside of business hours.

"That kind of raises some concern whether their drinking water is okay," said NBU Communication Manager Gretchen Reuwer. "Many of them have agreed, but once they do that, they start thinking about the time in the evening that these people want to come in, and they know that NBU has regular office hours," Reuwer said.
