The Daughters of the Republic of Texas are responding with a polite volley of apologies while saying they want to focus on the future.
After a two-year investigation into the operations of the Alamo, the Texas Attorney General's Office called into question the stewardship of the popular Texan shrine – citing mismanagement, neglect and even criminal misconduct by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.

The San Antonio Food Bank is stocked with 4 million pounds of food at any given time, but turns this quantity over quickly to make room for more food that will eventually make its way to 535 distribution sites. President and CEO Eric Cooper said that every year the food bank pushes 50 million pounds of food to people in 16 counties.
"That's about six to seven semi truckloads a day that will come in and go out through the food bank,” said Cooper.

It's a new location for Winter Magic with the Children's Chorus of San Antonio! "Our numbers have grown this year which is absolutely wonderful, but we needed a larger space," says Marguerite McCormick.
"We combine the choirs in a couple of different ways - sometimes two or three of the training choirs will sing together, sometimes the advanced choirs will sing together, and then we do feature all seven choirs; all 250 plus children in this concert!"
The City of San Antonio and Bexar County could have a unified government if a bill in the legislature giving voters the option to create a county charter is made law.
Like all counties in Texas, Bexar County has a Commissioner’s Court and its municipalities have independent mayor/council governments. A bill filed in the House by State Representative Lyle Larson would merge the two for a metro-government.
A program unique to the United States Air Force and Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland is the Inter-American Forces Academy where servicemen and women from countries like Bolivia, Colombia and Peru take classes to learn maintenance, leadership and technical skills.
