August 23, 2010 · Thousands of students arrived in San Antonio over the weekend, packing boxes and luggage filled with clothes and school supplies. Experts say today's students are more immersed in technology than ever before.

Director of Housing and Residence Life at UTSA, Lionel Maten, says students are wired for technology in all areas of life, from registering for classes to everyday dorm activities.

“This year, with the laundry program, students actually will have the ability to go online and have a text sent to them when their clothes are done washing, as well as go online to see if a machine is open before they go down to wash clothes,” Maten said.

More than five thousand students will live on college campuses around San Antonio this semester. UTSA is the largest host, with 3,700 students moving into dorms there.
