Perry Bashes Media for Flu “Hype”

1:02

April 30, 2009 · Governor Rick Perry was in San Antonio Thursday afternoon to discuss the swine flu outbreak with local health officials. Perry said Texas is ready to deal with a possible flu pandemic and urged Texans to take common sense precautions like frequent hand washing. Perry was also critical of the news media for its coverage of outbreak.

Perry said he supported the Obama administration’s decision not to close the border region. Also he said we should expect to see more confirmed cases of swine flu in Texas, but for most healthy people there should be nothing to worry about because, at least for now, the cases seem mild.
