January 26, 2012 · The Pacifica Quartet joins in the Beethoven Festival with the Bonn Master’s Opus 59 #1 quartet.
Masumi Per Rostad, violist from the Pacifica Quartet, speaks with John Clare about their San Antonio visit. The quartet, known for Carter, Mendelssohn and now Shostakovich recordings are playing one of the most famous quartets by Beethoven.
Masumi shares hearing Dvorak on the radio, playing two cycles of Shostakovich and Beethoven and how different it is to record than perform.
