February 6, 2012 · Patricia Schultz talks about the updated and revised edition of her 2003 New York Times #1 bestselling travel book. Schultz discusses the value of travel and how it expands our world view.
The new book has been updated with color photographs. Hundreds of new locations and 28 nations have been added. Some of the new destinations include places in nations that were part of the former Soviet Union. At the time the first edition was printed these new travel spots were not yet ready for tourism, but now they are wonderful places to visit. The new version of the book, totalling over 1,000 pages, also includes more affordable options to help your travel dollars go farther.
Schultz hopes that people will use the book to plan travel, relive past trips, and engage in “arm chair” travel. In addition to the new book, the author has now released a free, interactive iPad app with over a thousand photos and travel info that you can use to indicated past destinations and places you’d like to visit. You can also post your own pictures and update information to create a travel community.
Patricia Schultz is a travel journalist. The first edition of her book has been translated into 25 languages and more than three million copies have been printed. More information is available at 1000beforeyoudie.com.
