Tell Us Which Classical Music Pieces Move and Excite You

Every day, KPAC 88.3 FM aims to soothe and delight with selections from our extensive classical music library. We strive to play the best that classical music has to offer, but now we want to know which music you love most. This October, we're counting down San Antonio's top 100 classical music favorites, and we need your help to compile this year's list.

Are you roused by Ravel's "Boléro," or touched by Tchaikovsky's "Romeo and Juliet?" Have you been moved by Mendelssohn or motivated by Mozart? Does Turandot's "Nessun Dorma" stir in your soul, or do you find solace in Barber's "Adagio for Strings?" Now is the time to tell us.

Submit your top ten favorite pieces of classical music by clicking the button below. You may also call in your selections at (800) 622-8977, during business hours, or mail us at 8401 Datapoint, Suite 800, San Antonio, TX, 78229. Submissions will be accepted through September 30.

Classical Announcer Favorites

Randy Anderson
It is hard to narrow down my 10 favorites, but there was a time I had one and that was it.  I used to listen to the radio when I was working on my artwork and one of the stations I listened to was KMFM, San Antonio's commercial classical station back in the early 70's.  I remember how enraptured I became one day when I turned on the radio and the next piece up was Vivaldi's Winter from the Four Seasons.  I was familiar with this music, but I had never known what it was.  I was too excited to paint and after it was finished.  I made my first phone call to the station find out what recording it was.  That was my first classical album and now some 36 years later, I still have to stop what I am doing when it comes on and turn it up!
