December 31, 2009 · Over the past year, TPR’s Terry Gildea has covered the struggles of service members and military families in San Antonio making enormous sacrifices as the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan continue. KSTX News presents The Home Front.
The program includes the stories of a mother with a special needs child trying to hold a household together while her husband is deployed in Afghanistan; a soldier who lost her left leg in Iraq and trying to find a full-time job in a shrinking economy; a national program that encourages vets to channel the psychological trauma of war into visual art; and finally the journey of a burn survivor finding emotional peace in stand-up comedy.
The Home Front is a production of KSTX News and hosted by Steve Short.
