This Saturday’s Hands On Inventions event is now full. We look forward to seeing those with reservations at the Witte this weekend. If you have a reservation and cannot make it, please give us a call at (800) 622-8977, so we can make room for other guests.
Let your imagination take hold as explore the mind of a true renaissance man at our latest family adventure, Hands On Inventions.
Texas Public Radio is opening up the Witte Museum's newest exhibit, "The Genius of Leonardo: Machines in Motion," to our members.
On Saturday, July 26, from 10 a.m. to 1p.m., TPR members will enjoy free admission to the American debut of the world's largest interactive exhibition of Leonardo DaVinci's inventions. The exhibition is a spectacle in which knowledge and entertainment are entwined. Like a theatrical performance, the materials artfully take on a life of their own.
Over 40 ahead-of-their-time engineering marvels will be on display, constructed from Leonardo DaVinci's drawings. Members will also be able to try their own hand at inventing at the Interactive Workshop.
The fun doesn't stop with inventions of Leonardo. We are also celebrating the genius of Alamo area inventors. Inventions engineered by members of the Alamo Inventors and UT's South Texas Technology Management, will be on display, including innovations in medicine, archery and music. Interact with local inventors and get advice on how to bring your own invention to market.
Even the food from Madhatter’s Tea House will have an inventive spin, including gear-shaped buñuelos for all of our guests. The Hands On Series is made possible by Frost. |
